TBILISI, Georgia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On August 20, the Court of First Instance in the country of Georgia ruled in favor of Aviator LLC's copyright and trademark infringement claim against the gaming company Spribe OÜ and Adjarabet, Georgia's largest online casino which is owned by the UK-based company Flutter Entertainment Plc (NYSE: FLUT) (LON: FLTR). The court ruling found copyright and trademark infringement and invalidated trademark registrations based on bad faith registration and copyright.

In its statement, gaming tech business Playtech said it had given Flutter a period of exclusivity to complete due diligence, though there was no certainty a deal would be agreed.

Betting firm Flutter Entertainment is in talks to buy Snaitech, one of Italy's largest gambling companies, from UK's Playtech in a deal which could be worth 2 billion pounds ($2.57 billion), Sky News reported on Wednesday.

Flutter Entertainment PLC (LSE:FLTR) shot up 12% as its US business FanDuel delivered results well ahead of expectations in its first quarterly update since departing the London Stock Exchange for New York. Concerns about FanDuel's half had followed a disappointing update from rival DraftKings after a run of losing results, but Flutter raised its guidance for the year highlighting its US arm.
