MAHWAH, NJ — The iconic Sheraton Crossroads hotel in Mahwah, a landmark since 1987, will be demolished this coming weekend. Township officials released details on Wednesday afternoon about the upcoming implosion of the 22-story hotel, and which roads will close. The hotel, seen from Route 17 near the New Jersey/New York border, was known for its rows of gleaming glass windows. It was also the site of weddings, dances, and other events. It finally closed its doors in December 2023. The developers planned to build two warehouses on the site, but say they are now considering other uses.
