Being a software as a service (SaaS) stock in today's market has got to be one of the toughest positions to be in, especially for the shareholders who find themselves with some of those names in their portfolios. Rightly or wrongly, the market had placed shares of Autodesk Inc. NASDAQ: ADSK in that losing bucket for a few months, until common sense (which isn't so common) stepped back into the scene.

Autodesk continues to deliver accelerating revenue growth, benefiting directly from AI adoption and maintaining a dominant market position. Recent results beat expectations, with FQ2 2026 revenue up 17% year-over-year and EPS exceeding analyst forecasts by $0.17. Despite a post-earnings stock surge and somewhat premium valuation, I see ADSK as a Buy due to sustained double-digit growth and operational improvements.

Major U.S. equities indexes retreated from recent highs as investors digested fresh economic data ahead of the three-day Labor Day weekend.

Autodesk delivered strong Q2 results, driven by unexpected revenue acceleration from AI data center demand, outperforming many enterprise software peers. Despite impressive execution, Autodesk's valuation is stretched, trading at high multiples compared to other large-cap tech stocks with similar AI tailwinds. While Autodesk's performance limits downside risk, I see limited upside at current prices and prefer undervalued small and mid-cap tech opportunities.
