What are alerts?
Every quarter, thousands of SEC filings land: portfolio reports, real-time insider trades, amendments to earlier filings. Somewhere in that stream are the handful of moves you actually care about. Alerts exist to pull those out for you.
Watch specific investors to hear about every report they file. Track specific tickers to see when any investor adds, increases, trims, or exits a position. Or go further (Elite plan): put your saved "Edge Over Investor" screener criteria on watch, and get notified when a new match appears.
You decide what counts as alerts: which activities, which amendments, which delivery style, and fine-tune everything in your notification settings.
Three ways to stay informed
Watch your favorite investors
Be the first to know
Choose specific institutional investors (gurus) to watch. Get notified when they file quarterly reports (13F, NPORT) or real-time insider trades with the SEC
Track your specific tickers
Stay on top of your watchlist
Monitor securities across all investor portfolios, insider reports and receive alerts when they appear in new SEC filings.
Your screener criteria 24/7
Your filters on autopilot (Elite plan)
Save an "Edge Over Investor" filter combination as a preset and enable alerts on it. We continuously run your exact criteria against fresh data and tell you when new matches appear.
Why alerts matter
Signal, not noise
You only hear about what you chose: your investors, your tickers, your criteria. Unchanged positions, old amendments, crowded filing days — all filtered or bundled according to your preferences.
The filing finds you
Be among the first to know when top institutional investors make their moves. No news surfing, no checking back. The moment a relevant filing is processed, it's on its way to you.
Choose how you want to receive alerts
Control the frequency and delivery of your alert notifications
Combo / Deferred
Recommended for most users
Filings are collected into periodic batches (based on algorithmic decision) and delivered as one tidy digest: everything new since your last update in a single notification. Avoid notification overload when many investors report within a short time.
Solo / Instant
For time-sensitive tracking
Each filing triggers an instant notification the moment it's processed, so you get it while others are still waiting. New activity flows to you instantly as it's released. The moment something happens, it's already in front of you.
How alerts work
Alerts are processed automatically when SEC filings are published, typically within seconds/minutes of submission.
